Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Sign on Bonus Eligible

Program/Location: Outpatient Programs/ Brockton, New Bedford, & Plymouth
Education/Licensure: NP licensed in Massachusetts, knowledgeable/experienced in the field of substance use disorder & mental health conditions
Salary: $70 - $85/hr (Experience, licensure, & education dependent)
Status: Full Time, Part Time or Per Diem
Also looking for evening and weekend on-site psychiatric coverage for new inpatient units opening 2024
Psychiatric Team provides coverage to the inpatient and outpatient service programs. Opportunities exist in multiple treatment settings across all three services areas, including Brockton, New Bedford and Plymouth.

High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

  • Nurse Practitioner must be licensed in Massachusetts
  • Knowledgeable in the field of chemical dependency and psychiatric illness.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Requirements

  • Must present as courteous and professional at all times
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAHO`s electronic medical records
  • Must have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative manner
  • An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and/or self-help programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work with the alcohol / chemical dependent population as well as the mental health population
  • Assist in utilization review activities, as needed.
  • An understanding of boundaries and ethics
  • Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations
  • TB screening
  • Certification in the HPHAO approved de-escalation program
  • CPR Certification (minimum one per shift, all staff on IPS

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Duties & Responsibilities

  • Completes documentation including assessment, medication evaluation, progress notes, medical orders, and discharge summary
  • Attend daily treatment team meetings
  • Insuring adherence to Joint Commission and DPH standards and regulations
  • Utilization Review calls as required
  • Ensure that quality care is delivered to patient within a therapeutic environment in a cost-effective manner
  • Overall operation of the Dual Diagnosis Unit
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patients right
  • Utilize standard precautions at all times
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients/clients as defined by the patient’s right
  • Attend all unit, facility meeting and case conferences as director by Supervisor
  • Attend mandatory training
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program/Clinical/Area Directors, Hospital Administrator and/or Senior Vice President
