Higginbotham is Hiring a Financial Reporting Manager Near Fort Worth, TX

Higginbotham, a privately held, independent insurance and financial services firm that ranks within the top 20 nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Financial Reporting Manager for our Fort Worth, TX office.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for consolidation accounting and financial reporting.

Tasks:

  • Responsible for preparing monthly consolidated financial statements and financial reporting packages
  • Assist in overseeing the completion of quarterly compliance certificates
  • Participate in monthly financial review meetings with senior management
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining financial statement reports in the Sage Intacct GL system
  • Assist with month-end close procedures and overall Sage Intacct system administration
  • Perform detailed review of consolidation entries and post-close journal entries
  • Assist in the review and delivery of monthly income statements for new partner offices
  • Perform and review monthly flux activity for office income statements
  • Assist in managing and coordinating auditor requests related to the annual financial statement audit
  • Establish and maintain formal written policies and procedures for financial reporting processes as needed
  • Coordinate the compilation and review of pro forma financial information provided by the internal M&A team
  • Build relationships with senior management team and other internal business stakeholders
  • Other accounting duties, operational tasks, and projects as needed

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to think critically and strategically
  • Ability to plan effectively and promote a team environment
  • Strong ability/focus on analyzing detailed financial information
  • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel. Experience with large volume datasets, Power Query/Pivot is a plus
  • Understanding of and experience working in cloud-based accounting systems. Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required
  • 4 years of previous accounting experience required
  • Experience at a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with consolidated financial statements of a multi-subsidiary organization is strongly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP accounting required
  • Insurance industry knowledge is not required
