Position Overview:

Hickory Farms, LLC is seeking an ambitious and enterprising Accounts Receivable Specialist to join the finance team and own the accounts receivable function of the business. The candidate must be intellectually curious and detail-oriented. This is a hybrid role, expectations are that you are in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday each week.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Manage the customer receivables collection process. Ensure timely payment of open invoices by sending invoice reminders, contacting customers, and working through customer payment portals.
• Research and resolve customer deductions, work with sales representatives on disputing invalid deductions & investigate short payments, and obtain chargeback copies with necessary backup. 
• Work with Chief Financial Officer and Controller on risk assessment and credit exposure on Accounts receivable and deductions.
• Work with brokers on commissions, sending statements and supporting documentation.
• View customer portals to ensure all EDI invoices have been transmitted appropriately.
• Create and maintain accounts receivable aging reports, ensuring the aging ties out to the general ledger.
• Help with miscellaneous accounts receivable requests as necessary

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
• 2 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable or Accounting experience
• Self-starter with a willingness to work hands-on and work cross-functionally.
• Demonstrated ability to research transactions and bring them to a conclusion.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Customer service orientation with an exceptional degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
• Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking

• Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
