Hibser Yamauchi Architects (HY Architects), established in 1977, provides architectural design, planning and interiors services to clients in the educational, healthcare, and institutional market sectors.

Our work includes designs for new construction and renovations as well as master planning.

Through our staff of 70 and from our offices in Oakland and Davis, CA, HY Architects partners with clients to define, design and deliver projects that meet their goals.

We are looking to add people to our team who share our collaborative approach and will look to uncover all opportunities to improve a user’s experience, no matter the project.

Specifically, we are currently looking for a Job Captains to join our Davis office and support our Healthcare clients..

Primary Responsibilities :

• Administer the Revit model, which includes picking up redlines and / or producing redlines for more junior staff
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard architectural techniques with limited direction from supervisor
• Assist in developing fee proposals and project billing
• Perform minor code analysis; help build a specification book
• Conduct field / site surveys, update logs and support Construction Administration
• Contribute to project closeout
• Coordinate with external and internal team members, including AHJ, consultants, and contractors
• Correspond with clients and attend meetings with stakeholders

Qualifications :

• Experience in Healthcare projects preferred but not required
• Proficiency with Revit required
• 5 years’ experience ideally including seeing projects from SD through CA
• Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent education.
• Thorough knowledge of architectural drafting, detailing, building materials and construction codes.
• Familiarity with various software programs (Sketchup, Creative Cloud, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project).
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Consistent QA / QC of own work before providing to supervisors.
• Effective communication and coordination with stakeholders.
• Preference to be working towards Architecture license
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative team attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Desire to grow professionally, learn new things and advance in architecture field

Salary

Base salary $70K - $96K depending on experience, plus discretionary annual bonus
