Technical Sales Representative
The right candidate must have strong mechanical aptitude and enjoy helping people. They need to be outgoing, likeable, ambitious, and a self-starter.
If you’re the candidate we’re looking for, you’ll be using your years of experience selling to the industrial market, traveling overnight every other week to serve our customers and develop new accounts in your territory.
Customers throughout the Eastern U.S. depend on us to keep their reciprocating compressors up and running with prompt, reliable repair, reconditioning and maintenance services. You will call on both new and existing accounts, helping them diagnose and solve their equipment problems and representing Hi-Tech Compressor, the market leader. You will be based in Tullytown, PA.
We will provide you with a company vehicle, so you must have a clean driving record. You’ll be traveling about 50% of the time to New Jersey, Long Island and the New England states.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Makes sales calls on a regular basis to existing customers and prospects for Hi-Tech Compressor products and services to business and industrial establishments within geographical assigned territory.
· Identify each customer’s needs and expectations to establish a successful customer-supplier working relationship.
· Take measurements, read and interpret system reports and/or documents, safety procedures and guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, and operating procedure manuals.
· Prepare accurate, thoroughly written quote requests for the Estimating Team.
· Follow through to get orders placed and fulfilled as promised.
· Plan and report activities on a weekly basis.
Requirements
· Must possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· The ability to interpret a variety of the instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
· Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
· Travel 50% of the week (Monday through Friday)
· Knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel
