Hi-5 ABA is Hiring a Part Time Behavior Technician (In Home Services) Near Portland, OR

Opportunity Summary:

Compassionate Therapy for Autism is looking for Part-Time Behavior Technicians to work with children with developmental disabilities, providing ABA therapy in the client's home. This opportunity is an entry-level position , so there is absolutely no experience required! Our extensive and ongoing training will prepare you for everything required in this role.

This is a unique part-time position, as it's solely in clients homes. This is a "field" position, remote, traveling to and from different client's homes to provide ABA therapy sessions.

New hires at Compassionate Therapy receive training and support as new Behavior Technicians. Each applicant must complete a 40 hour course before they can start, due to regulations by the state of Oregon. We support each new hire in a career in ABA by paying to become certified as a Registered Behavior Technician and providing fieldwork hours to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst!

About Compassionate Therapy for Autism :

Roxana started Compassionate Therapy for Autism in the beginning of 2020 when agencies offering services in the area withdrew their care due to COVID-19 and shelter in place regulations. Roxana started CTA because of her passion for working with children as well as her dedication to a considerate treatment and fair compensation of the behavior interventionists working in the Portland area. Roxana has 19 years of experience in the field of ABA, has a BA in Social Work from University of Bucharest, Romania, an MA in Behavior Analysis from University of South Florida, and a PhD in Psychology from City University of New York. Roxana is dedicated to helping every child become their best selves, and to making every family feel heard. The children who have worked with Roxana made tremendous progress, learned to have a voice, to make their wants and needs met, to read, count, add, and to enjoy life with their loved ones.

Position Requirements:

Apply to this position if the following applies:

  • High School Graduate or GRE
  • 18 years old or older
  • Complete the 40 hour RBT training course
  • Able to lift 50 pounds on occasion
  • Have reliable means of transportation, valid drivers license and current car registration and car insurance

Position preferences:

The following skills are a plus:

  • Experience working with children with autism, challenging behaviors, emotional support needs, or developmental disabilities and delays.
  • Experience as a paraprofessional, behavior support, emotional support, school aide, classroom aide, TSS, special education classroom support, etc
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong technical skills with basic systems such as email, notes, medical records, etc. on both computer and iPad

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ABA Therapy for children in their homes to assist them with improving behaviors and acquiring new skills.
  • Follow specific protocol for each client and implement individualized ABA programs as set by the treatment plan and directed by BCBA or qualified health professional
  • Document client sessions by recording data, writing quality session notes and inputting timesheets
  • Develop strong rapport with the client and family and work with parents to ensure the child is meeting their goals
  • Communicate with supervisors on case updates, changes in schedule, and availability
  • Participate in supervision sessions and team meetings
  • Maintain appropriate professional conduct and boundaries at all times, client confidentiality, and ensure timely communication with families

  • Referral program & employee development assistance
  • This position is a field in home role. All therapy sessions will be held in the client's home.
  • Competitive compensation starts at $23-25/hour based off experience
  • Opportunity for increases based on evaluations and promotional opportunities
  • Extensive and ongoing trainings for all staff regardless of experience level

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
