Job Summary:
Responsible for planning the ordering, receiving, distribution and storage of supplies and equipment for the Surgical Services departments. Develop and maintain appropriate records, whether computer or manual, for documentation of purchase orders, inventory control and department requisitions. Works with Surgical Services and Materials Management leadership teams to assure accurate department supply par levels are maintained in a cost effective manner.

1. Responsible for ordering, receiving and distribution of supplies and equipment for Surgical Services.
2. Reviews requisition orders to confirm accuracy; track status of requisitions and orders.
3. Prepares and maintains organized files for purchase orders and department requisitions.
4. Assists department staff members as needed to assure special supplies or equipment are available.
5. Works directly with Material Management placing orders, resolving shortages or backorders, missed or late deliveries and inventory control.
6. Utilizes Lawson and the CLEAR BIN Supply System to manage supplies.
7. Process returns of surgical supplies in a timely manner following established processes.
8. Process equipment and instrument repairs in a timely manner by creating the proper documentation and obtaining RMA from purchasing.
9. Process Bill Only requisitions. Verify contract pricing, issue purchase order and update implant spreadsheet with required information.
10. Submits special order items for review to the System Value Analysis Team.
11. Participates in HGA Surgical VAT Committee Meetings for education on current and future supply projects related to Surgical Services.
12. Promptly relays all relevant information for purchasing and receiving of supplies with Materials Management and Surgical Services leadership.
13. Responsible for rotating stock and monitoring out of date supplies.
14. Management of Surgical Services product and equipment recall database for monthly Environment of Care recall reporting by the Director of Materials Management.
15. Assists with cleaning / maintaining work area and storage supply areas.
16. Maintains a team approach to inventory problem solving with staff members.
17. Maintains Gemba Audit Score of 90 or above for each Surgical Services node audit.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent, college credits or associates degree preferable.
Experience: Must be computer literate with experience in receiving, distribution and inventory management. Requires the ability to communicate, multitask and prioritize using good decision skills. Knowledge of Lawson, Meditech and two bin system software helpful.
