Communicates data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in nursing practice. Serves as a liaison between clinicians, ancillary departments, and Information Technology (IT) to align clinical and IT standards with department workflows, processes, and policies. Acts as a change agent for hospital leaders and clinicians to promote adoption of new processes and technologies. Serves as the clinical leader for projects involving technology changes that impact nursing and vice versa with the clinical team members. Ensures appropriate clinical leaders are included in decisions involving information technology. Coordinate clinical processes and workflows across the organization that involve both nursing and information technology.
Serves as a clinical informatics expert to directors/managers and staff. Evaluates and coordinates the education plan to ensure all clinical staff are trained. Ensures policies and procedures are updated that involve information technology.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks as needed. Must be able to work independently with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with the ability to make presentations and conduct necessary training sessions
Must have working knowledge of Clinical Information Systems, computer, word processing applications, spreadsheet applications, and graphics applications. Strong knowledge of medical/surgical clinical nursing
Education Required:Graduate of accredited School of Nursing required. BSN required. RN with BS in health or business management acceptable. Current Alabama or Multistate Nursing license required.Extensive hospital RN experience in which leadership has been exhibited is required.
