HG External is Hiring a Registered Nurse On-call Near Bakersfield, CA

Rosewood in Bakersfield, CA, one of 13 HumanGood communities names "Best Nursing Homes 2024-2025" by U.S. News & World Report is seeking an On-call (Per diem) Registered Nurse (RN) for its 5-star Skilled Nursing team. Under general supervision, the RN is responsible for the total nursing needs of residents, while actively incorporating HumanGood’s “Philosophy for Person-Directed Care; ” ensures a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors to participate in the resident’s daily life rhythm; develops assignments in coordination with the care partners; and keeps each team member accountable for resident care and satisfaction.

** On-call ** Must be Able to Work All Shifts: 6:30am-2:30pm; 2:30pm-10:30pm; 10:30pm-6:30am **  $37-$45/hr. (Depending On Experience)

A day in the life may include: 

  • Facilitates nursing care provided to all residents and includes residents in decision making processes;
  • Actively engages residents in participation in daily activities which are part of resident’s rhythm of daily life (including desired hygiene, grooming, and mobility);
  • May lead and directs care partners by providing support, encouragement, and direction as appropriate;
  • Makes frequent rounds and utilizes the nursing process to identify resident conditions that require further evaluation and treatment by a physician;
  • Reports significant medical changes to the relevant Team Members, Physician, DON, HSA and designated family members as appropriate;
  • Responds to emergency situations, carries out physician orders, and documents the event, interventions, and outcomes;
  • Accurately and completely performs direct nursing services, such as, medication administration, treatments, personal care and other nursing procedures.
  • Accurately receives documents and transcribes Physician Orders with the appropriate follow-through in a timely fashion, specifically advocating resident safety;

What you need to have to be successful in this role: 

  • Completion of Licensed Registered Nursing Program (RN)
  • Current RN license in California
  • Current CPR certification
  • Excellent clinical observation and assessment skills
  • Proficient computer skills necessary to complete documentation, review electronic health records and communicate with team members.
