Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to expectant mothers and their newborns. Your expertise in patient care, knowledge of labor and delivery procedures, and commitment to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment will contribute to the well-being of our patients.
Duties:
- Provide direct patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods
- Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and maternal vital signs
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians
- Assist with pain management techniques, including epidurals
- Conduct assessments of newborns immediately after delivery
- Educate new parents on infant care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse or in a similar role is preferred
- Proficiency in HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes
- Experience administering injections, sutures, and IV insertions
- Knowledge of ambulatory surgery center protocols for efficient patient flow
- Ability to work collaboratively with doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and their families
Salary: Up to $2,592.00 per week
