Responsibilities
Description
Hexagon is looking for a data engineer intern that will be responsible for the development, customization, and support of the Data Sourcing Solutions to facilitate internal Strategic Intelligence Data & Analytics. This solution will impact business performance improvements in the areas of product development and sales as well as other business functions. Responsibilities may include designing, developing, optimizing, and testing small to large-scale data transformation processes into our data warehouse using a modern technology stack such as SQL Server, Python, Kofax RPA, and Microsoft Azure.
Under direct supervision, the individual will contribute to the development of automated Data Pipelines using the modern technology stack tools primarily on the Microsoft Azure platform including Databricks. The individual will be responsible for extracting information from our Data Lake as well as various other cloud business systems such as Salesforce and combining disparate data sources into complex datasets that meet business needs. The individual will be expected to develop infrastructure that provides high-quality, structured data for use in data exploration and analysis.
The individual will work in a fully remote small team environment using LEAN Agile processes and XP development techniques and should be able to use best practices in software engineering, data modeling, data architecture, and ETL processes to provide quality data and analytics to end users.

Qualifications
Candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Analytics or another related field.
- Experience using Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc…)
- Experience using Python
- Experience using SQL and knowledge of data warehousing technical architectures
- Experience with a source control management solution (Git, Subversion, etc.)
- Experience with build automation and automated testing
- Originality, ingenuity, independent judgment and a reasonable degree of self-direction and decision-making
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience or using Kofax RPA
- Experience with Microsoft Azure
- Experience with Databricks
- Knowledge around best practices of data modeling, data architecture, and ETL processes
- Knowledge of RPA (Robotic Process Automation)
