Heuristic Therapeutic Services, LLC is Hiring a Front Desk Receptionist (Spanish Speaking Preferred) Near Germantown, MD

Position Summary:

Office Manager is responsible for performing clerical duties at HEURISTIC THERAPEUTIC SERVICES. Office Manager organizes and manages all client records, regardless of form and complies with all relevant federal, state, and local laws regarding confidentiality and privacy practices regarding client information

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Open and close office daily on working business days
  • Schedule a New Client appointment and obtain all information required
  • Schedule follow up appointments for psychiatrist/nurse practitioner
  • Pre-Register a client by obtaining insurance authorization
  • Demonstrate proper telephone etiquette and processes to retrieve and transfer calls and messages
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled
  • Documents appropriately in client’s charts any appointments missed and reasoning for missing appointments for psychiatrist/nurse practitioner
  • Maintain office area in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Maintains waiting area in good supply of reading material
  • Interact with members of the Health Care Team
  • Maintain client care areas so they are orderly and functional
  • Check-in clients for psychiatrist/nurse practitioner
  • Maintain and abide by all HIPPA regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Competencies:

  • Knowledge of office administration including scheduling, maintaining documentation.
  • Knowledge of medical records billing functions.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact effectively in a team setting with other behavioral health professionals.
  • Familiarity with various ethnic and cultural groups.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and prioritize.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An associate degree in business or comparable work experience.
  • Must have a current Maryland driver’s license, automobile liability insurance and willingness to provide own transportation in the course of performing job duties.
