Heroux Devtek is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Strongsville, OH

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for quality inspections on in-coming, in-process, and finished products using various precision gages and CMM equipment. Perform audits, maintain MRB materials and areas, and review quality documents for accuracy and completeness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Set-up and verification of various in-process gauging.
  • Programming and operation of CMM.
  • Conduct First Article (FAI), PPAP, and First Piece Inspection using precision gauges, CMM, scales, and visuals.
  • Conduct and document second level inspections of Critical To Quality (CTQ’s) characteristics.
  • Reconcile final inspection of packaged product and documentation for shipments to the customer.
  • Maintain control of MRB materials and areas.
  • Receiving Inspection.
  • Maintain Customer, Supplier, and Internal Web Access.
  • Perform Audits as assigned.
  • Maintain gauge calibration system through the following activities: inspection of gages for due dates and condition; collection and distribution of gages for third party calibration; assure that out of calibration gages are never in use.
  • Maintain NCR system by generating and distributing detailed and legible NCR’s as required.
  • Participate in Quality Stand-downs.
  • Interact with Contractor(s), Vendor(s), Supplier(s), and Customer(s) as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accurate - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communication (Oral and Written) - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken and written word.
  • Problem Solving – Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related and personnel related problems.
  • Technical Aptitude – Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information relating to the product and process; skilled at blueprint interpretation; competent in the use and setting of hand gages.

Education

· High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required. Associate or Higher Level Degree preferred.

Experience

Three to five years experience in a Quality Inspection role with the ability to read and interpret blueprints / specifications, use of precision gauging, and knowledge of CMM equipment (operation and programming) while maintaining the ability to communicate effectively while working with others towards a common goal is a requirement. Previous experience in a machining or CNC environment is preferred with previous tool-making experience a plus.

U.S. Citizen or ability to provide legal documentation as it relates to U.S. working status required.
