Heritage Professional Products Group (PPG) is a leading distributor of turf and ornamental products, fertilizers, herbicides, and lawn care products to contractors across California. We seek a dynamic and experienced Category Agronomics Manager to join our team. As the Category Agronomics Manager, you'll play a vital role in managing our product portfolio, leading a team of sales professionals, and developing strong relationships with vendors. Your expertise in agronomics and understanding of the landscaping and professional industries will be key to your success in this role. Compensation: $80,000 to $122,000 (D.O.E.) Responsibilities: Product Management: Lead the growth of our agronomics product line in California. This includes managing a vast professional products portfolio of control products, fertilizers, erosion control and seed for the turf and ornamental markets. Conduct market research, monitor industry trends, and identify new products to enhance our offerings. Collaborate with vendors to coordinate education and training both internally and externally. Develop and execute strategies to drive product growth and profitability. Team Leadership: Develop, lead, and motivate a team of sales individuals and branch leaders to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service. Provide guidance, training, and support to help the team excel in their roles. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliable and efficient supply chain management. Collaborate with vendors to develop joint marketing initiatives, promotional campaigns, and exclusive product offerings. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and communicate relevant information to internal stakeholders. Sales Planning: Work closely with the executive team and regional managers to develop comprehensive sales plans and merchandising efforts for our network of brick and mortar locations. Analyze market data, identify growth opportunities, and develop strategies to increase market share. Monitor sales performance, identify areas of improvement, and implement corrective actions when necessary. 'Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in agronomy, horticulture, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus. California PCA certification desired. Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management within the landscaping or agricultural industry. Strong understanding of agronomics and practical knowledge of turf and ornamental products, fertilizers, herbicides, and lawn care products. Proven track record in managing sales teams and achieving sales targets. Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and develop innovative solutions. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to travel within California as needed. Compensation: $80,000 to $122,000 (D.O.E.) The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $74,300 to $98,450 Annually.
