As we continue to expand, we are searching for a Financial Analyst II to join our amazing team!
The Financial Analyst II prepares internal and external financial reporting and analysis. Responsible for modeling and interpreting the results of Heritage’s interest rate risk model, discussing the results with the Director of Finance and CFO, and communicating the results with management and the Board ALCO Committee. Helps lead the financial budgeting and reforecasting processes. Consults with the Director of Finance, Controller, and CFO on matters related to interest rate risk and liquidity management. Responsible for peer group reporting and ad hoc analysis as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
The Financial Analyst II assumes responsibility for the effective performance of all assigned financial analysis projects by:
  • Analyzing various financial data, interpreting results, and preparing analysis to identify areas of opportunity or risk. Performs financial forecasting, modeling, and reporting.
  • Providing proactive analytical and transactional analysis and support for the credit union’s Asset Liability Management process.
  • Completing monthly investment analysis and reporting and investment purchase options.
  • Analyzing and creating interest rate risk simulation models and related balance sheet forecasts. Performing simulations under multiple scenarios and stress tests.
  • Reviews interest rate simulation model results and works with the Director of Finance to clearly understand and report the results.
  • Creates, analyzes, and reviews model assumptions, develops and tests strategies, and updates underlying analytics. Recommends strategies to improve net interest margin or reduce risk.
  • Developing and maintaining business unit and product profitability models.
  • Assisting with budgeting, quarterly reforecasts, and analysis of performance to support growth projections and strategic planning.
  • Budgets and analyzes department performance, researching the reasons for variances.
  • Creating and analyzing monthly, quarterly and annual reports to ensure financial information has been recorded accurately and assisting with month end closing process.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, statistics, finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA or other related professional certificate preferred.
Required Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures.
Understanding of financial institution regulations and reporting requirements.
Understanding of general ledger, ALM, payable and other accounting software packages
Experience Required:
Minimum of three years of prior financial analyst experience.
Experience with Symitar, FICS, Prologue and Axiom products preferred but not required.
Knowledge of accounting procedures and financial institution financial statements.
Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets including Excel modeling skills.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail and accuracy.
Process mapping for operational efficiency.
Exceptional written and oral communications.
