Position Summary

The Custom Cabinet Shop Manager oversees all aspects of operations within a custom cabinet manufacturing shop, ensuring efficient production, quality craftsmanship, and timely delivery of custom cabinetry projects.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop production schedules and workflows to optimize efficiency and meet project deadlines.

• Coordinate with designers, sales teams, and clients to ensure clear communication of project specifications and requirements.

• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes or unexpected delays.

• Supervise and motivate production staff, including cabinet production associates and paint associates to achieve high-quality results and meet production targets.

• Provide training and guidance to staff on manufacturing techniques, safety protocols, and quality standards.

• Conduct inspections of finished cabinetry to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.

• Address any quality issues or defects promptly, working with staff to implement corrective actions and prevent reoccurrence.

• Manage inventory levels of raw materials, hardware, and supplies to support production needs while minimizing excess inventory and waste.

• Monitor production costs and expenses, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

• Collaborate with Account Managers, Designers and other stakeholders to translate client needs and preferences into actionable production plans.

• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to help employees improve their skills and performance.

• Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

• Proven experience in cabinet making, woodworking, or custom cabinetry production.

• Strong managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.

• In-depth knowledge of cabinetry construction techniques, materials, and finishes.

• Experience with production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

• Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.

Physical Requirements: Ability to read, write with prolonged periods of standing, bending, squatting, working with a variety of building and construction tools. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
