Job Title: Staff Dietitian
Reports To: Regional Nutrition Coordinator and/or Community Advancement Director
Pay Rate: $31.00/hour
Supervises: N/A
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt, part time, non benefit eligible.
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Staff Dietitian supports the Heritage Nutrition and Wellness Programs and serves as a resource to the entire Heritage staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintain a high-level of customer service by engaging with program participants and assist participants with completing forms and assessments as necessary.
· Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with community partners.
· Input client information and other necessary information if needed.
· Attend and participate in staff trainings, staff meetings, community, and public meetings.
· Follow all fiscal procedures for handling and depositing voluntary contributions if needed.
· Support volunteers and answer questions as needed.
· Research, develop, and distribute appropriate nutrition education to all dining locations and providers regionally, on a monthly basis.
· Communicate with the Regional Nutrition Coordinator, any issues, concerns, and suggestions to ensure a well-functioning program.
· Assist coordination efforts with regional nutrition programs as necessary.
· Assist with Encore Express, Encore Café, and Encore Essentials locations as necessary.
· Develop nutrition program menus with input from nutrition team.
· Analyze menus within the region and provide guidance to staff and sub-contractors regarding nutritional guidelines, food preparation, storage and service.
· Perform other related work duties as assigned.
· Provide consultation and technical assistance to OAA nutrition programs and development and implementation of nutrition grants.
· Serve as a resource to other team members; provide information, training and direction regarding consumer nutritional status, assessment and interventions. Actively serve as member of interdisciplinary team as needed.
· Support nutrition sub-contractors as needed; provide technical assistance, training and support.
· Additional hours to complete grant specific activities requiring advanced understanding of nutrition may be approved.
· Position is remote, work from home, with supervisor approval. Work hours are flexible but must be within regular business hours- Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

· Provide outstanding service to our customers (agency staff, subcontractors, volunteers, clients, and others) over the phone and in person.
· Read, understand, and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written form
· Be able to effectively utilize technology and computers including, but not limited to, office equipment, word processing, spreadsheets, and database software, scanners and other equipment.
· Show a commitment to detail and accuracy.
· Must be prompt, dependable and reliable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree in a program of study meeting the criteria for the national registration examination for dietitians and completion of a nutrition practice internship of at least 900 hours.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
· Must have active Dietitian License in the State of Iowa.
· Must be willing to be certified in dependent adult abuse upon hire, if not already certified upon application.
Licensed driver in the state of Iowa with valid insurance.
