Here Tomorrow is Hiring a Military Peer Support Specialist Near Neptune, FL

Here Tomorrow is hiring a Military Peer Support Specialist as a full-time position in Jacksonville, Florida. 
Here Tomorrow has joined a State of Florida initiative to prevent suicide deaths among Service men and women and are hiring part-time and full-time Military Peer Support Specialists to engage and serve Northeast Florida Service men and women. We are seeking Peer candidates who have lived experience serving our country in the Military. The Military Peer Specialist has a vital role in the mission of Here Tomorrow, “to transform lives by building a community where mental healthcare is acceptable and accessible.” This position will focus on engaging people who are contemplating seeking help to address mental health conditions and providing support and inspiration to begin the journey towards recovery.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide a model for both people in recovery and staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible
  • Provide recovery education to service recipients for every phase of the recovery journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance
  • Assist persons to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery
  • Assist/coach recovering persons to develop their own plan for advancing recovery and creating the life they want
  • Document all service activity in customer relations management platform
  • Increase constituent satisfaction, loyalty, and advocacy at every touchpoint
  • Widen the impact of Here Tomorrow in the community by promoting the services of the organization in the community
  • Collaborate with team to develop innovative approaches for engaging at-risk individuals, their families and those who may be able to intervene to prevent tragedy
  • Assist those seeking help with accessing mental healthcare in the community by linking them with mental health treatment providers, community resources, and enrolling them with Here Tomorrow stay-connected programs
  • Support team members as needed with other projects
  • Promote a person-centered approach to serving people with mental health conditions
  • Live the Here Tomorrow mission and organizational values of love, sharing, accountability, and perseverance.

Position Status and Qualifications:
  • Candidates are eligible to apply regardless of discharge status.
  • This is a full-time and part-time nonexempt positions.
  • Applicants must be certified or eligible for certification as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) or Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) in the State of Florida.
  • Must have lived experience as an adult in recovery for a minimum of 2-years from mental health and/or substance use condition and experience serving in our Armed Forces.
  • The starting pay range is based on experience, training, and certification. To be considered for employment at Here Tomorrow, applicants who have used our services as a Friend must have either a two-year gap since their last session or be at least two years post program completion.
  • Preferred: Service in the Enlisted grades E4 or above. Professional Military Education (PME) trained. Suicide prevention certifications/ Resiliency certification.
NOTE: If on active duty, provide a memorandum from Commanding Officer denoting characterization of service and ETS/EAD date.
