Hercules Industries is Hiring a Branch Manager Commercial Sales Division Near Denver, CO

The primary function of the Branch Manager is to direct all branch activities and personnel to ensure that the business objectives for the branch are achieved in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.The principal branch activities are sales, operations, and the manufacturing components.The manager must be effective in coordinating all these activities such that the customers are served by a seamless and transparent operation. The Branch Manager is accountable for branch sales, gross profit, contribution margin objectives, controlling expenses, and asset management. Salary $105,000-$125,000.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Sales and Operations
    • Develops and implements annual branch business and sales plans. Regularly evaluates achievement of sales plans and reports on branch sales, gross profit, contribution margin objectives and asset management.
    • Establishes volume and profit objectives for the branch in accordance with budgets.
    • Works with Corporate management to establish an operating budget for the branch and strives to maintain costs within that budget.
    • Develops and maintains harmonious customer, potential customer, vendor relationships, and healthy “team” oriented relationships with employees.
    • Keeps up to date and educated on market and industry trends as well as assesses the current market to determine potential for new products and services, current market conditions and the effects of current and potential competitors.
    • Coordinates with sales personnel to prioritize customer opportunities.
    • Implements marketing plans and business plans to develop and grow branch sales as well as develops and recommends specific sales and marketing objectives for branch products.
    • Establishes effective corporate accounting procedures within the branch to ensure invoices to customers are accurate and timely, and cash accounts and checking accounts are monitored and reconciled.Works with credit management in the collection of accounts receivable and the adherence to the company’s credit policy.
    • Responsible for all inside sales and project managers within the facility to ensure the accuracy of costing, invoicing, and proper reflection of margin performance.
    • Responsible for managing the total order fulfillment process, including establishing order fulfillment processes and work procedures, accuracy of inventory, including cycle counts and physical inventories, and evaluating and improving warehouse layout and product flow.Ensures proper implementation and application of company policies and procedures, specifically regarding receiving, order filling, inventory control and delivery.Also responsible for facility maintenance.
    • Responsible for managing and overseeing project management of all Commercial duct fabrication jobs.
  • Estimating
    • Coordinates with the estimating department by ensuring workloads are most effectively assigned.
    • Reviews bids prepared by estimators to determine if they are competitive in the market, and if they fit within the profit goals of the branch operation.
    • Continuously monitors potential workload of estimated jobs and coordinates the impact of the workload with manufacturing capacity.
    • Reports bid results and success rates to upper management.
    • Provides estimating teams with current accurate material, labor cost along with manufacturing times to ensure accurate estimating and job quotations.
    • Oversees the development and maintenance of an efficient working process of internal and external quote requests, quote submissions to contractors, bid logging, and the flow of actual job costing data back to the estimating team.
  • Safety, Health, and Welfare
    • Creates and maintains a safe work environment by ensuring that the branch facility is kept in a clean and organized manner so as to reduce or eliminate obstacles and thereby creating a safe and accident-free environment.
    • Follows and fully understands all safety rules and procedures as directed by the company.
    • Ensures that all branch employees follow all safety rules and procedures and are properly trained to conduct their job in the safest manner possible.
    • Works as a team with the Company Safety Director regarding all aspects of the company safety program.
    • Ensures the communication of and compliance with all company human resources and safety policies and procedures.
    • Thoroughly knows and understands all aspects of the Company’s benefits as applicable to the Union and non-Union workforce.Knows and understands provisions of the Union contracts.
    • Recruits, hires, coaches, and develops employees. Ensures that personnel are delegated adequate authority to carry out their responsibilities and objectives, but that limitations of their authority are defined and clearly communicated.
  • Manufacturing and Production
    • Maintains direct oversight of manufacturing operations.
    • Reviews production and operating reports and works with manufacturing supervisor to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum production costs and to prevent operational delays.
    • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
    • Reviews operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
    • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate constraints and improve product quality.
    • Ensures all machinery and equipment is properly maintained, vehicle fleet is maintained, and all permits/licenses are current.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Directly supervises and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Five years sales and management experience with a wholesale, contracting, or manufacturing organization selling products and services within the construction industry, and possesses a working knowledge of the HVAC supply business.
  • Minimum of a two-year technical degree or more preferred.
  • Qualified applicants must be customer-oriented and motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proven sales, marketing, leadership, and management skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer and branch needs.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to verify and calculate figures such as cost, commissions, credit, rebate and profit, understand and interpret financial data and reports and balance sheets.

REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to analyze customer, branch and employee problems and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.

COMPUTER SKILLS:Comfortable working with computers; both windows based and on the network system.

  • Must possess intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point skills sufficient to complete all tasks as required of a branch manager.
  • Must thoroughly understand and be able to navigate through all accessible areas of the Harris Data System.
  • Must be familiar with all areas of the Hercules intranet site (Beekeeper) and all available tools within the site.
  • Must be able to effectively use the internet to research product or industry data and information.
