The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
HJF is seeking a Program Coordinator to provide administrative project coordination of multiple research projects in the Department of Pediatrics at the Uniformed Services University. Tasks will focus on ensuring that the research team completes regulatory paperwork and reports on time. The Program Coordinator makes connections with partners at the University and outside partners as needed, schedules meetings, helps to set agendas and takes notes to ensure completion of tasks. This is the entry level position for the program management track. It is characterized by introduction to developing and managing budgets, proposal development, and other related administrative duties.
Note: This site requires that the incumbent has lived in the US for three out of the past five years. 

Responsibilities
  • Under supervision, ensures the terms and conditions of the award / funding vehicle are adhered to. Assists in ensuring all required reports are completed and submitted on time.
  • Monitors study performance, analyses, and reviews results, and oversees implementation of new protocols as needed.

  • Helps to schedule meetings for research collaborations and research activities such as focus groups.
  • Provides administrative support under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Assists in overseeing and managing collection, maintenance, analysis, and evaluation of information used in grant submissions, presentations, and publications.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of organizational objectives, the federal budget process, office automation.
  • Ability to work completely independently, use sound judgement in solving problems.
  • Coordinate many complex systems and programs simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, and good communications skills.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 0 - 2 years experience required
