Research Bioscientific Staff are expected to obtain NIH funding; publish papers in peer-reviewed journals; report data at scientific meetings; participate in academic activities, (i.e. NIH study sections, editorial boards); and participate in HFHS research activities as requested by Chairs and the Director of Research. Individuals can also attain senior staff status as a Core Staff. Core Staff have equivalent educational requirements; however, these individuals are not required to obtain external funding. Core Staff are expected to serve in the role of consultant/collaborator. NPR status plus either: a) grant renewal; b) additional NPR grant; c) exceptional history of funding by a national peer review agency or agencies (e.g., NASA, NSF, AHA, ACS, DOD). A minimum of 5 years at Level 1 (at least 5 years in a faculty position after completion of postdoctoral training) or equivalent at other institutions. Record of peer-reviewed publications (³15 1st/senior author publications and > 20 peer-reviewed publications. Recognition in the scientific community, as determined by one of the following: invited lectures, participation in scientific organizations, study sections, review of manuscripts, etc. Service to the institution such as mentoring, teaching, lectures and committee membership. P.I. of a program project biostatistics core or co-investigator of an NPR status grant with a minimum of 10 percent effort. A minimum of 7 years experience as PhD biostatistician at HFHS or equivalent at other institutions. Record of peer-reviewed publications (³10 1st/senior author publications and >30 peer-reviewed publications). Recognition in the scientific community, as determined by invited lectures, participation in scientific organizations, study sections, review of manuscripts, etc Service to the institution such as mentoring, teaching, lectures and committee membership.
