YOUR ROLE

  • Input Sales order, material & critical freight information, from source documentation, into the SAP system to support the preparation of shipping documentation and sales order completion status.·
  • Book and schedule freight pick-up with International Freight Forwarders and Domestic air & surface carriers 
  • Research dangerous goods regulations, communicate all applicable packaging, marking and labeling instructions to Shipping and prepare Shippers Declaration of Dangerous Goods
  • Prepare, print and assemble Domestic & International SAP shipping documentation.
  • Resolve all outstanding sales order issues, SAP data/system errors and status concerns of assigned accounts with Customer Service, Quality, Shipping, and MST/Scheduling departments·
  • Provide freight routing and status information to Freight Forwarders, Carriers, Customer Service, Sales offices and Customers as required through faxing, e-mail and other web-based status systems.
  • Support team activities related to departmental metric & data collection and customer care activities.
  • Monitor & Status daily assigned Customer accounts from established reports· Resolve all credit and shipping blocks with Accounting and Customer Service
  • Type various Domestic & International Air Way bills as required.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experienced in the application of airfreight logistics for perishable freight.
  • Proficient in managing Federal Express and UPS Shipping Systems including dangerous goods shipping guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in international freight logistics.
  • Ability to effectively analyze and determine if supplied freight routing information results in the most cost effective, and direct arrival to final destination, for both single and consolidated shipments.
  • Solid understanding of Export Administration Regulation and the ability to provide guidance regarding export shipping and documentation requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability in calculating air/ground rates to varied international destinations.
  • Working knowledge of Schedule B and Harmonized Tariff Codes
  • Knowledge of importing practices in Europe, Canada, Mexico and Asia
  • Proficiency in managing projects and reporting results.
  • Proficient in the certification and preparation of dangerous goods documentation for domestic & international transport in all modes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software applications
  • Extensive hands-on experience with an integrated business system (SAP preferred)
  • Top organizational skills for simultaneously managing documentation, high volume phone, and system data input, with a strong follow-up discipline.
  • Ability to manage disparate responsibilities within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety
  • 5 years Traffic experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  •  B.A/B.S degree or a formal export/logistics certification in lieu of a full degree is a plus or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
  • Certified – Preparation of Dangerous Goods for Air Transport (IATA) (preferred)
  • Certified – Department of Transportation (DOT) Preparation of Dangerous Goods for Transport (preferred)

Thesalary for this role is $45,000.00 - $55,000.00. This is the range thatwe in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for thisposition. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range andthis range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
