Hendrickson is Hiring an Associate Manufacturing Engineer Near Elizabethtown, KY

Area of Accountability:Design and develop machine control systems to support existing manufacturing line product improvements, capacity expansions, and equipment rebuild projects. Primary responsibilities will be maintaining control systems using AutoCAD Electrical 2012, PLC and HMI programming, but must be willing and able to assist in all project activities in order to meet demands of manufacturing plant.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for manufacturing and process engineering activities associated with controls, automation and machining.
  • Use standard process-control principles to develop, test and modify industrial equipment, manufacturing processes and the devices that control them.
  • Design, test, troubleshoot and oversee the implementation of new processes.
  • Create and implement new strategies to improve process efficiency, as well as supporting start-up activities.
  • Support equipment and tooling activities associated with machining processes.
  • Work with tooling suppliers to develop machining processes and tools for new and existing products.
  • Manage engineering changes as they occur.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation - PFMEA, Picture Process Sheets, Tooling Sheets, etc.
  • Work with quality and production associates to develop and maintain work instruction documentation.
  • Evaluate tooling, special test and inspections concepts and equipment
  • Lead manufacturing technical support, coordinate cost reduction activities, and support corrective action activities
  • Develop and maintain good relations with other team members
  • Adhere to Corporate policies and procedures
  • Supplier and customer liaison for engineering related items
Qualifications: Include education, experience, and skills required or preferred. Example:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent, and 2-4 years minimum experience in a high volume manufacturing (preferably machining) environment
  • Proficient with Fanuc and Siemens CNC controllers
  • Proficient with Siemens S7 PLC and HMI programming
  • A good understanding of Fanuc and Siemens PLC’s and how they interface with the NC is a strong plus
  • Proficient with any 3D modeling and drafting software
  • Proficient with Process Diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plans
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Strong decision making skills, with the ability to grasp technical concepts quickly
  • A hands-on approach is essential, with ownership of products and processes
  • Must be a team player with good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Self-motivated striving to find lean solutions to improvements and issues
  • Flexible work schedule required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Machining experience is a strong plus
  • Fanuc robotics experience is a strong plus
  • Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming experience a strong plus
