Henderson Building Solutions is seeking a Director of Construction Operations to join their team and oversee all Construction Manager (CM) team members and ensure compliance with design, budget, and schedule. They have collective project financial responsibility and oversite, including budget, profit and cost projections. The Director works with the individual CM’s and team members to be sure internal management processes are being deployed and benchmarks are being met. Director must communicate regularly with CM staff to ensure projects are safe, timely, profitable and that all invoices are collected. They are to hold CM staff accountable for allowing best practices of scheduling in P6, SOV production, Procore implementation and other monthly forecast meeting benchmarks the Manager sees fit to establish. The Director will stay up to date on all best practices, make recommendations on practice or policy changes or enhancements and drive a best-in-class client experience internally and externally.
Minimum Qualifications For The Role Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of construction or engineering preferred. Common examples include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Engineering, and Construction Management.
    • Years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of requisite education.
  • OSHA certifications required.
  • Eight (8) or greater years of relevant experience required in construction and the design of building systems.
  • Project management, estimating, field installation, and installation supervision experience required.

  • Possesses efficient communication skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills specifically within Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project.
  • Proficient in P6 scheduling.
  • Adapts to changing work environments, work priorities and organizational needs.
  • Generates ideas for improvement, takes advantage of opportunities, suggests innovations.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to identify and understand relevant emerging technologies and industry trends.
Skills and Duties you will be Responsible for while in this role: Construction Management And CX Staff
  • Directs the CM’s management of construction projects.
  • Plans and sets project objectives, goals, and deadlines with the CM’s.
  • Advises on appropriate construction methods and strategies.
  • Advises on processes so that projects meet design specifications.
  • Reports on status and progress of project and budget matters to Managing Director.
  • Advises CM’s staff on all required project documentation.
Engineering Design Team Assistance
  • Makes recommendations as to the feasibility of systems and/or equipment and evaluates construction products for their application if needed.
  • Advises in the assembly and distribution of equipment and construction bid packages.
Safety Compliance & Facility Coordination
  • Ensures a safe and efficient work environment is driven into our culture.
  • Verifies CM’s are meeting and practicing all required OHSA and industry approved safety standards.
Cost Estimation
  • Can assist in the development of accurate budgets for all projects and clients that reflect all costs associated with construction.
Business Development
  • Protects the best interest of the client and preserves/enhances the reputation and bottom line of the company.
  • Assists with business development activities by promoting Henderson to existing and potential clients.
  • Participates in client, company, and industry events.
  • Grows personal network by building relationships with clients and industry professionals.
