SUMMARY
Los Angeles Community Health Project (CHPLA) is a program of Heluna Health. CHPLA's mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of people affected by substance use in Los Angeles, increase access to health care, empower people to protect themselves, and educate each other to reduce harm in our communities. LACHP combines direct services, advocacy, outreach, education, and research collaborations to fulfill this mission. LA Community Health Project was founded in 1992.
The Logistics Coordinator reports to both the Director of Training and Education and the Director of Client Services. This position is responsible for receiving all supply shipments and deliveries and maintaining and organizing inventories and orders under the CHPLA umbrella. The Logistics Coordinator will also oversee the distribution and deliveries of naloxone and harm reduction supplies to outside, eligible providers. In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining company vehicles to ensure smooth and safe field operations and work to address maintenance and janitorial issues that arise in the office. In addition to having the capacity to juggle and prioritize multiple duties, the ideal candidate will be expected to understand the context of assignments and be flexible and adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities.
This is a full-time benefitted position.Employment is provided by Heluna Health.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Oversee shipments, deliveries, and inventory for all CHPLA harm reduction supplies, donations, basic essential items, and Naloxone
•Manage daily activities of the OEND and SSP clearinghouse; including inventory maintenance and distribution to DHS contracted agencies who receive overdose prevention training and receive their naloxone and harm reduction supplies from CHPLA's OEND program
•Place supply orders as necessary
•Receive shipments as they are delivered to CHPLA main office
•Inventory all incoming supplies to ensure the entire order has been received
•Track items that were not received and work with vendors to resolve any issues that prevented supplies from coming in
•Ensure inventory rooms and Kit Making Stations are stocked, clean, organized, free of clutter, and labeled according to category and department
•Relocate inventory to an alternative warehouse as appropriate and necessary
•Communicate with field staff and field supervisors to stay aware of items running low or out of stock
•Communicate with staff and management when items are on back order and when field staff need to decrease distribution in the field to maintain supplies
•Work closely and effectively with both Program Directors to keep them well informed of inventory issues, shortages, future deliveries, outstanding invoices, items on back order, out of stock or unavailable, upcoming commitments, special requests, and scheduled deliveries to outside programs
•Maintain related files in an organized and efficient way that allows for easy tracking and referencing
•Support reimbursement, invoicing, and budget management related to supply spending
•Schedule and coordinate prompt and professional deliveries of Naloxone, safer use, and harm reduction supplies to outside programs that are eligible to receive CHPLA supplies
•Maintain documentation that tracks supplies received by outside programs and providers
•Enter data related to supplies distributed to either outside providers or clients in appropriate data storage locations
•Screen incoming calls and email requests related to the OEND Clearinghouse and respond in a reasonable time frame with a professional tone
•Work with vendors in a professional and effective manner to ensure smooth operations and ongoing positive relationships
•Receive incoming calls to the CHPLA office for general request
•Prepare bags for field and client distribution as needed and as requested by directors or supervising staff
•Serve clients that visit the main office with general requests or in need of basic essential items or harm reduction supplies with care, efficiency and compassion
•Be able to provide basic harm reduction and overdose prevention information to clients that visit CHPLA's main location
•Ability to demonstrate to staff and outside agencies the appropriate use and purpose of harm reduction supplies
•Have a basic understanding of all programs that operate under the CHPLA umbrella
•Directly responsible for maintaining the fleet of vehicles dedicated to field operations and CHPLA health services. This will include but is not limited to maintaining fuel levels, brakes, oil changes, mechanical repairs, detailing, coordinating vehicle alterations or equipment additions, and registration renewals
•Responsible for coordinating needed repairs and maintenance within the office related to plumbing, electrical and janitorial services
•Attends staff meetings as required
•Other duties as assigned by supervisors
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Participates in basic operations alongside CHPLA staff such as general cleaning and stocking
•Assists office visits in a friendly, professional manner

•Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize accordingly, juggle changing deadlines, and understand the nuances associated with supporting community health-based, LAC sponsored program
•The ability to work effectively with teams, share information,0 and work collaboratively to solve problems and make decisions
•Self-managing; ability to work well independently with minimal oversight and as part of a team
•Excellent writing, spelling, and grammar; Ability to write concisely, express thoughts clearly, and develop ideas in a logical sequence

•Comfortable providing quality compassionate care to underserved clients from diverse backgrounds and communities.
•Comfortable driving a variety of vehicle types, including large sprinter vans.
Education/Experience
•Six months of full-time experience providing direct services to or working with the public or with community groups.Some examples of qualifying experience are conducting outreach, interviewing clients or patients concerning health or social service matters, answering questions, and providing information about health, mental health, and social services to clients or patients. Applicants with a harm reduction background are preferred.
Certificates/Licenses/Clearances
•A valid California driver's license
•Must be at least 21 years of age and will be required to enroll in the DMV Pull Notice program
