We’re currently looking for an Occasional Babysitter in Portland, OR 97229

A lovely Portland family, near Bethany (close to Beaverton & Hillsboro), is seeking an occasional babysitter for their easy going 10 month old and sensitive 3.5 year old boys to start as soon as possible. The 10 month old is currently bottle solid fed (baby led weaning). He loves dancing to music, reading/flipping the pages of books, and singing at bedtime. The 3.5 year old can be shy at first, but once comfortable, he is very talkative. He requires a lot of attention and the family is looking for someone who can handle working with big feelings and emotions. He enjoys coloring, dinosaurs, Magnatiles, reading and wooden blocks. Both children have eczema.

Dad works from home, however, backup care will be needed intermittently to assist mom when dad goes on work trips and can fall on any day between Monday-Friday from 4pm-9pm. Care will be needed for 4 hours, either 4pm-8pm or 5pm-9pm. Mom will be home during this time and is looking for an extra set of hands to help keep the children engaged and entertained. The family will be able to provide a week’s notice prior to when care is needed. The next upcoming days of care needed are Tuesday December 5th-Friday December 8th from 4pm-8pm. (Candidates applying do not need to be available for all of these requests.) There is a medium sized (30lb) dog in the home who may bark; no pet care is needed. The family is fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. A great candidate will be calm, compassionate, loving and supportive.

• Length of Position: Long term
• Schedule: Intermittent; can be any day between Monday-Friday, 4pm-9pm (4 hour increments every 1-2 months)
• Compensation: $30 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engaging with the children in play
• Provide an extra set of hands for mom
• Occasional diaper changing for 10 month old

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of paid professional infant care experience
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of paid professional toddler care experience
• Must be UTD on CPR certification or willing to renew prior to start
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and willing to show proof
• Must be UTD on COVID-19 boosters
