Heirloom Carbon is Hiring a Construction Manager Near Houston, TX

About Us

All across the world, from the azure pools of Turkey and Oman to the travertine terraces of Yellowstone, our planet quietly pulls carbon dioxide from the air and turns it to stone. For eons, Earth has relied on this process to balance its carbon cycle. What if it could be harnessed? What if we could do it faster, in larger quantities, and at a low enough cost to make it an effective tool in the fight against climate change?
At Heirloom, we are turning that into reality. We use the natural carbon capture properties of abundant minerals to pull CO2 from the air, and store it permanently underground. We come to work every day to slow climate change, and are united behind a single, common goal - to remove 1 billion tons of CO2 from the sky by 2035, and to not stop before we get there.
We bring together the precise recipe of science, technology, know-how, and strategy necessary to make low cost, high quality carbon removal a reality. If we’re successful, we will directly mitigate climate change, build a world we can proudly hand over to our children and grandchildren, and catalyze an industry that will rival the largest the world has ever seen. If you want to change the planet, come join us.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

As temperatures continue to rise, individuals from marginalized communities will face the harshest impacts of climate change. We believe wholeheartedly that building a diverse company is critical to Heirloom’s success. To accomplish this, we’ve put recruiting, hiring and retaining individuals from underrepresented groups at the top of our priority list.
We encourage you to apply if you identify as Black, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, American Indian or Alaskan Native, Hispanic or Latino, LGBTQ – or with any other underrepresented group – even if you don’t tick all the boxes in the description below.

The Role

Are you an experienced Construction Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to lead transformative large scale projects that address our climate challenge and facilitate the Energy Transition? Are you excited to work in a project that leverages the capabilities and techniques of the commercial and industrial sectors? Join Heirloom and take charge of coordinating and supervising our internal and external workforce and supply chain to ensure the successful delivery of our increasingly complex project objectives and overarching business goals with the opportunity to expand and grow with our portfolio to mega project scale delivery.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in integrating all elements of all onsite construction-related activities, engaging with internal disciplines, external service providers, and vendors to mitigate project impacts and drive efficiency. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering construction sequences consistent with project objectives, facilitating commissioning, and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.

What You Will Bring

Our ideal candidates have a minimum of 10 years of experience in construction, including at least 5 years managing mid to large-scale projects. Your current knowledge of construction worksite Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices, as well as familiarity with emerging construction methods, technologies, and digital applications, will set you up for success in this role.

With a keen ability to prioritize and execute effectively, you'll identify risks early and develop well-thought-out corrective action plans. Your familiarity with construction involving heavy-duty processing technology, furnaces/kilns, or similar mechanical & industrial applications, coupled with your thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction and Louisiana building-code requirements, will be invaluable assets to our team.

A degree in Engineering or a related field, along with professional certifications such as CCM (Certified Construction Manager), AC (Associate Constructor), or CPC (Certified Professional Constructor), is highly preferred, but not required. Additionally, experience with Last Planner or other PDCA approaches to construction management, as well as proficiency in using 3D models and digital construction applications, will be highly beneficial.

If you possess the discipline, critical thinking skills, agility, and adaptability required to thrive in a dynamic environment, and you're eager to challenge existing practices and drive meaningful change, then we want to hear from you! Join us at Heirloom and be part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional results and pushing the boundaries of construction management. Apply now and embark on an exciting journey with us!

Compensation for this role is expected to be in the $155,000 to $185,000 range, depending on experience and qualifications.
