As our underground construction miner, you will be building and repairing bulkheads, ventilation air doors, paste systems, vent raises/escape ways, and other infrastructures to keep our production going and our profitability up. Every day you will work in a mine on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. You’ll start every job with safety first by inspecting your workplace, your equipment, and then operate and maintain various types of equipment and tools for the application of shotcrete. To thrive in this role, you must be able to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems. We’re on a remote island, you must know how to work independently.

• Training first. Every hire is provided MSHA training in the first 4 days on the job. We also provide department-level training on not just what to do, but safety, as well.
• Apply your mechanical aptitude to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot mixer trucks, nozzle equipment, and concrete pumps.
• Working on a remote island and living in a mining camp environment away from home if you are not Juneau based. Our department has different schedule options such as 14 days on/14 days off, 20 days on/10 days off, or 14 days on/7 days off.
• Working with forming and finishing concrete and prepping and spraying shotcrete.
• You’ll be below ground doing workplace inspections assigned each morning. Then, we’ll rely on you to prioritize your work before you get started.
• You'll pass a background screening for ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms).
