Position: Corporate Engineering Assistant
Compensation: Commensurate with experience. Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week. First shift position, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work weekends and overtime.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: The most important qualifications the right individual will possess are a strong work ethic, strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication skills and a personable and positive attitude. A strong background of proven engineering and project management ability is critical.Proficiency with computers and engineering software applications is essential.This is a manufacturing environment, which means you will be expected to engage with your team consistently throughout your shift while exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures. You will also be on your feet for most of the day. The corporate engineering assistant must be flexible. Controlled change is constant and the willingness and ability to adapt is essential.

· Must pass a drug screening, physical examination, and background check.
Educational/Technical Requirements:
Job Duties:
o Designing, programming, modifying and maintaining all electrical control systems.
o Designing, managing, and supervising the installation or repair of all equipment.
o Working with the Maintenance managers to improve plant maintenance’s ability to keep the equipment operational.
· Design, modify and maintain all PLC/HMI programs.· Design, modify, calibrate and maintain all instrumentation.· Design, modify, and maintain shop floor data acquisition systems.· Design, modify and maintain all plant equipment and building drawings.· Develop a cooperative relationship with Corporate Engineering Manager, General Manager, Plant Managers, Maintenance Managers, Industrial Machinery Mechanics and Operators.· Project management - new equipment or major overhauls of existing equipment.
o Help design new furnace and/or other equipment layouts.
o Review and define equipment specifications.
o Prepare installation drawings.
o Design and program control systems.
o Coordinate schedules (with plant staff, vendors and contractors).
o Write scope of work for contractors (all disciplines).
o Monitor contractors (all disciplines).
o Manage start up and testing.
o Write operating and maintenance manuals.
o Train operators, electricians, and mechanics on new equipment.
· Plant maintenance.o Help trouble shoot equipment problems.o See that all OSHA, NFPA, and safety standards are met and that all safety regulations and procedures are properly enforced for plant maintenance and contractors.o Train maintenance employees as required.o Support Maintenance Managers as required.§ Fill in for Maintenance managers as required.§ Support each Maintenance managers to maximize their chance of success in maintaining the plant.
· Plant production systems review.
o Recommend changes to increase production or efficiency.
o Modify, create and implement Company work instructions.
o Monitor Equipment problem logs to determine areas of concern.
o Manage all plant camera systems hardware and software.
o Set up new cameras and programs.o Install software on company computers.
· Keep Corporate Engineering Manager informed of all factors that are affecting or could affect any aspect of the maintenance department.
· Undertake additional duties as may be required by the Corporate Engineering Manager at any time.
Interaction: Primary interaction will be with Corporate Engineering Manager, Maintenance managers and Industrial Maintenance Mechanics. Secondary interaction will be with vendors, Plant Managers, General Manager, Shift Managers and operators.
