HEARTSHARE HUMAN SERVICES OF NEW YORK is Hiring a Summer Activity Specialist, Surfside (Per Diem) Near Brooklyn, NY
The summer activity specialist will have specialized skills and expertise in one or more discipline or content are to lead and implement an activity such as arts, dance, STEM, literacy, nutrition or organized sports. Regardless of discipline, activities are to be sequenced, skill-building activities.
Summer Activity specialists must be available to work Monday - Friday 9AM- 5PM.
DUTIES:
- Assist in the development of age-appropriate activities in one or more discipline or content area
- Provide direct supervision of youth activities
- Assist in maintaining daily attendance records for program participants
- Assist in the provision of basic counseling services as needed (peer mediation, self-control, decision-making)
- Accompany Campers on cultural and recreational field trips
- Assist in ensuring a safe environment for program participants
- Actively participate in all professional development sessions, supervision, and team meetings
- Adhere to agency policies and procedures
- Assume other duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma and two years experience working with youth or an Associate's degree in child development, recreation, or a related field.
- Must be able to work in Coney Island, Brooklyn.
- Summer Activity Specialists must be available to work Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5PM
