Job Title: Soccer Activity Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Activity Specialist with focus on Soccer to join our team. As an Activity Specialist, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities for children with focus on Soccer but may include other camp-like activities. The ideal candidate will excel in Soccer and be confident in their ability to lead and teach a group of kids. This individual will also be responsible for providing support and supervision to the counselors in their respective activity class. Responsibilities:

- Engage children in interactive activities relating to their activity.

- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans in relation to activity.

- Plan and lead a variety of activities, with focus on soccer but flexibility with other activities
- Create a safe and inclusive environment for children to participate in activities
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum relating to activity
- Provide guidance and support to children during activities
- Maintain order and manage classroom behavior effectively
- Ensure the well-being and safety of all children in your care
- Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate schedules and activities

· Assists with general camp duties throughout the day, including maintaining the proper camp staffing ratios, ensuring the safety of the campers, and ensuring counselors implement the daily activities.

· Updates Assistant Director and Camp Director on any issues or challenges with campers and/or counselors.

· Understands and implements all protocols set forth by BKLA Summer Camp as it relates to health and safety measures

· Attends all staff meetings as required by Assistant Director and/or Camp Director

Requirements/Qualifications:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build and foster relationships

· Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and handling sensitive and confidential information

· Strong customer service, prioritization, time management, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to work independently

· Make sound decisions under pressure while meeting tight deadlines and open/flexible to last minute changes

· Demonstrate enthusiasm with a sense of humor, patience, and self-control
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to educate and engage children in a fun and interactive manner

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Must be minimum of 18 years old

-Must have previous childcare experience

Physical Requirements:

· Visually observe the campers and listen to distress signals in a noisy environment

· Able to stand for an extended period and lead activities

· Capable of working in heat and humidity during the summer months

Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
