We are currently seeking an experienced Head of first-line operations risk management to join our team. This newly created role will be pivotal in building, overseeing, and optimizing our broad operations functions and locations, and the associated risks and controls required as a regulated enterprise. Reporting into the Chief Operations Officer, the ideal candidate will have a significant background in process, risk and controls for large financial institutions. Including experience with oversight and managing multi-location service delivery, vendor performance, and operational excellence in a dynamic environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective scaling of our multi-location operations while maintaining the highest service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. First Line Process, Risk and Controls Leadership : Provide strategic oversight and execution of first line programs for operational risk management capabilities.
  2. Multi-Location Operations Leadership : Develop and execute the strategy for managed services, ensuring alignment with the companys overall objectives and customer satisfaction.
  3. Process Optimization: Establish and maintain processes to identify, quantify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement and internal control enhancements across various operational areas of the enterprise.
  4. Vendor Management : Build and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors, driving improvements in service quality and value. Ensure vendors meet or exceed contractual obligations and service level agreements.
  5. Performance Management : Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of global services, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Team Building : Recruit, manage, and develop a high-performing multi-location operations teams capable of scaling with the organizations growth.
  7. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with other departments (such as Risk, IT, Sales, and Customer Service) to align risk management strategies with effective delivery models. Resolve conflicts quickly through proactive communication and influential leadership.
  8. Budget and Cost Management : Manage budgets related to first line risk management capabilities and managed services operations and services, focusing on cost-effective strategies.
  9. Risk Management and Compliance : Ensure operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, managing risks effectively.
  10. Market Intelligence : Stay informed about market trends and developments in managed services, adapting strategies to maintain competitive advantage.

Planning and Organizing: Has the ability to determine a course of action, set and manage priorities, and ensure optimal resources to deliver positive results on-time and with limited guidance.

Drive and Execution: Self-motivated and committed to achieving established goals, overcoming obstacles, and continuously learning to improve performance.

Customer Centric Outcomes: Puts the end customer at the forefront of everything we do; continually seeks first-hand customer information and perspective and uses this insight to shape strategies and actions to delight and engage internal and external customer.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a risk management and/or global operations or service delivery role, with a strong focus on managed services.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Banking or Financial Services.
  • Project Management Certifications preferred (PMI-PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
  • Proven track record of managing vendor relationships and improving vendor performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work across cultural and geographic boundaries, adapting strategies to suit diverse markets.
