Hearthside Food Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Technician to add to our team in Bolingbrook, IL

Pay:

• Starting at $25.00/hr to $35.00/hr depending on experience
• Time and a half OT pay

Shift(s) Available:

• 1st Shift - Monday through Friday - 6:00am-2:30pm, weekends as needed
• 2nd Shift - Monday through Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm, weekends as needed
• 3rd Shift - Monday through Friday 10:00pm-6:30am, weekends as needed

Job Summary:
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is focused on maintaining and troubleshooting packaging equipment lines which includes cartoning lines, cup lines, baggers, horizontal form fill & seal (HFFS) as well as fill & seal pouch packaging systems. Following all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety requirements to assure production of safe, quality products in a clean and safe environment for plant operation. Additionally, you will be required to assist with preventative equipment maintenance, and parts ordering as required.

This role has diversified duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, basic electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of machines, equipment and plant facilities. This includes scheduled, unscheduled or emergency repairs. Perform regular preventive maintenance which also includes maintaining supporting documentation for the PM’s.

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct maintenance according to skill level and pursuant to safety policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make-adjustments.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those unusual situations to the facility maintenance manager.
• Utilizing Microsoft Office, order and schedule parts as well as jobs.
• Perform work in a safe manner and use Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications:

• Skilled with Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic troubleshooting
• Full understanding of 3-phase motor controls
• Basic Electrical troubleshooting skills
• Troubleshooting AC & DC drives experience a plus
• Able to communicate and take direction from the Maintenance Manager.
• Able to collaborate with Line Workers, Leads, Supervisors and Plant Manager.
• Adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously
• Legible record-keeping and data entry skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and have creative problem-solving abilities
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) year trades degree and/or 4 years of mechanical maintenance experience
• Able to read, write and speak English
• Bilingual capabilities are a plus!
• Must be 18 years of age

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment - exposure to a variety of machines, noise levels, and varying temperatures.
• Depending on which location, our environments can be very warm or refrigerated.
• Team environment - must be able to work well with others and communicate in a respectful and professional manner.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
• May be required to work weekend and night hours to fill in as needed.
