Heart Vascular & Leg Center is Hiring a Registered Nurse - ER/ICU Near Bakersfield, CA

Heart Vascular & Leg Center a state of the art Comprehensive Outpatient Center which provides Cardiology and Vascular services, including consultations, diagnostic testing, venous ablations and peripheral vascular interventions in the office based lab setting. It has been in business since 1992.
Job Description:
We are hiring aRegistered Nurse with an Emergency Rooms/ ICU/ Conscious sedation experience.
  • MUST hold up to date and current Registered Nurse license.
  • MUST be willing to work flexible hours 5am-5pm as scheduled.
  • Conscious sedation experience preferred.
  • ER/Operating/Procedure room experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • IV Skills Required.
  • RN graduates and part-time job seekers are welcomed.
Summary of Responsibilities:
A member of clinic who has responsibility for the direct care of assigned patients, both care delivered personally and the care provided by members of the team to which care is delegated. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, establishing goals, planning interventions, evaluating and re-evaluating care. Delivers care based upon policy and procedure, standards of care, and regulatory issues. Delivers care in a manner that promotes quality of care.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current California RN license.
  • Communicates and works effectively with people.
  • Maintains current CPR certification and ACLS.
  • A minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical experience in an acute facility, experience in Critical Care Unit preferred.
Job Relationships:
  • Responsible to the physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, registered nurse, and office manager.
  • Works under the supervision of a physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant.
  • Works cooperatively with the other staff, patients and their families.
Physical Activities and Requirements:
  • RN’s have to lift, stand, reach, stoop, and walk. They often work under pressure, answering phones, and always having to be ready when the doctor needs assistance. They also must be prepared to handle emergencies.
  • Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a cardiology clinic environment, including blood and body fluids.
  • Requires full range of body motion including lifting, handling, and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Involves standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally assist lifting and carrying patients weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
Mental Abilities:
  • Must be able to communication effectively and tactfully, ability to make decisions quickly, stay calm in stressful situations, and handle several important responsibilities at once.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • They must well groomed and have a courteous pleasant manner.
Responsibilities:
  • Completes and documents an initial assessment of the patient.
  • Uses clinical assessment skills to determine each patients needs, physiological, psychological, safety and educational.
  • Recognizes and reports changes in the patient’s status.
  • Processes physician’s orders in a timely manner.
  • Is able to prioritize implementation of patient’s needs, physician requests and other departmental requests.
  • Administers and monitors medications and treatments as ordered by policy and procedure.
  • Acts as an advocate in providing safe delivery of care.
  • Complete all required documentation in patient’s chart.
  • Demonstrates ability to recognize cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
  • Utilizes measures to prevent infection.
  • Manages and operates equipment safely.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of sterile techniques.
  • Assists the physician with assessment of the patient.
  • Provide a safe and private environment for the patient.
  • Demonstrates competence in the clinical area of intravenous therapy.
  • Documentation of current medications obtained from the patient.
  • Assist in patient care such as transporting and ambulating.
  • Apply and remove bandages and dressing as needed.
  • All task and supportive services under the direction of a physician.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Performs patient education as needed.
  • Demonstrate regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, clinic personnel as defined in the Policy and Procedure manual. Respect and understand the patient’s rights.
  • Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the clinic operates in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Attend clinic staff meetings as required.
  • Interact with fellow employees in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment.
  • Must adhere to all policies, procedures and regulations as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual, OSHA, HIPAA and Code of Conduct. Must possess a high degree of accuracy for the performance of all tasks.
CERTAIN TASKS REGISTERED NURSES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO:
  • Independently diagnosis or treat patients.
  • Independently prescribe medications.
  • Independently give out medication samples.
  • Independently refill prescription requests.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time.
Salary: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour or no bar for right candidate with right experience.

Billingual ( Spanish) is preferred.
