Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Manager to join our team. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and performance of assigned product categories. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive sales, optimize inventory, manage vendors, and analyze market trends.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category strategies to achieve business objectives
- Conduct sales analysis and monitor market trends to identify growth opportunities
- Manage product assortment, pricing, and promotions to maximize sales and profitability
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing
- Utilize data analysis skills to identify insights and make data-driven decisions
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, and logistics to drive category performance
- Drive e-commerce initiatives and optimize online presence for assigned categories
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of logistics, sales analysis, inventory control, and vendor management
- Proficiency in market research tools such as SPINS or similar platforms
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights
- Familiarity with contract negotiation and management processes
- Experience in e-commerce and understanding of online marketplace dynamics
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel or similar software
