Description

Job Title: Receptionist

Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico

Job Summary:

We are seeking an organized, personable, and detail-oriented Receptionist to join our Occupational Medicine Clinic team for the Newport News Nuclear (N3B) BWXT Los Alamos project. The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for our clinic, setting the tone for a positive patient experience. This role involves greeting and directing patients, handling incoming calls and inquiries, scheduling appointments, and performing various administrative tasks to support clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet patients and visitors, providing them with assistance and directing them as appropriate.
  • Manage incoming calls, including scheduling appointments, answering inquiries, and routing calls to the appropriate department or individual.
  • Maintain patient records and confidentiality, ensuring accurate entry and updating of patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, copying, and managing correspondence.
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy and welcoming at all times.
  • Handle patient check-ins and check-outs, verifying information and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Assist with the coordination of patient flow and notify staff of patient arrivals or delays.
  • Process payments and provide patients with information on billing and insurance.
  • Support clinic staff with administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Office Management, Medical Administration, or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a receptionist, front office representative, or similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients and team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
