HealthQ is Hiring an Advanced Practice Clinician (Per Diem) Near Lawrence, MA

Manager: Regional Manager and Medical Director

Supervises: N/A

FLSA Status: PRN, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Salary Grade: P-2

Salary Range: $56.65 – $70.81 per hour

Location(s): Beverly, Haverhill, and Lawrence, MA

Established in 1971, HealthQ is a non-profit organization providing sexual and reproductive health. HealthQ’s mission is to provide exceptional reproductive and sexual health care to all who need it without judgment and without barriers. With convenient locations on Massachusetts’ North Shore and Merrimack Valley, we provide birth control, abortion care, gender-affirming care, STI testing and treatment, HIV testing and referral, and other preventive health services.
ROLE SUMMARY
HealthQ is currently looking for per diem APC to provide sexual and reproductive health care through evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in collaboration with the Medical Director and within established agency guidelines.

ABILITIES

    • Dedication to and have passion for reproductive health, and the achievement of reproductive justice and health equity.
    • Experience in providing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

SKILLS

    • Graduate of accredited college or nursing institution with nurse practitioner or nurse midwife degree
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in family or women’s health, including experience with the full range of sexual and reproductive health services
    • Ultrasound certification and experience with medication abortion preferred
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently required
    • Spanish language skills preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Under the supervision of the Medical Director, and guided by evidence-based protocols, and federal grant and state contract regulations, provide sexual and reproductive health care to patients
      • Secure and review the complete health history and record findings accurately
      • Perform physical examinations with special emphasis on the reproductive system
      • Consult with Medical Director when client presentation falls outside established guidelines
      • Provide cancer screening testing, diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections and perform other types of more specialized procedures as indicated
      • Provide health counseling and emotional support throughout care. Teach and support positive self-care techniques, including problem resolution and selection of treatment alternatives
      • Perform and order diagnostic studies as indicated and provide appropriate treatment and follow-up as necessary
      • Perform lab procedures, including phlebotomy, injections and vaginal/KOH preps, and provide follow-up for abnormal lab results
      • Proactively manage medical and psychosocial referrals and collaborate with other community agencies in providing comprehensive care
      • Provide birth control education and methods, including IUD and implants
      • Participate in agency efforts to achieve established goals for productivity, growth and expansion

Other important details:
The schedule for this position is PRN.

This is position is not benefits eligible. The employee will still accrue 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked.
