POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Healthpeak Medical Office Properties, Inc. is seeking a passionate Leasing Paralegal for its in-house Legal Leasing team. The duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Collaborate with internal and external leasing personnel (including company attorneys, brokers and property management) to negotiate and draft leases and other tenant-related documents, such as subleases, assignments, correspondences, terminations, etc.
• Assist with the maintenance of summaries and abstracts of Healthpeak medical office assets
• Assist in-house lease preparation team and company leadership with complex and sensitive lease-related documents
• Review and analyze ground leases, declarations of covenants, and other documents to identify and apply relevant restrictive provisions affecting Healthpeak medical office assets in documents and explanations to colleagues and third-parties as needed
• Perform highly confidential administrative duties, information management, and complex word processing text input and editing
• Assist with other legal, leasing and asset management related duties as needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• 3 years of law firm or in-house commercial real estate experience, with contract drafting and negotiation, as well as document abstracting experience
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
• Paralegal certificate preferred
• Proficient in MS Word (including, without limitation, redlining documents), MS Excel, and MS Outlook
• Experience with contracts, including vendor contracts
• Experience with commercial real estate documents, including commercial leases and restrictive covenants
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, professional and dynamic environment
• Detailed-oriented and organized, but must have the ability to be flexible and creative
• Ability to work and maneuver within and adapt to evolving complex processes and systems
• Internally motivated and self-starter
• Adept at working with multiple personalities types and working styles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
