HealthCare Support Staffing is Hiring a Patient Access Specialist Near Overland Park, KS

Patient Access SpecialistHealthCare Support is actively seeking a Patient Access Specialist to fill an opening with a Fortune 500 Company in Overland Park, Kansas.Daily Responsibilities for Patient Access Specialist:
  • The purpose of this position is to help patients get access to the medications and therapies that they need.
  • The Patient Access Specialist will support the healthcare providers addressing questions regarding coding and billing and navigating complex reimbursement issues.
  • This position also provides support for Prior Authorizations (PA) for an assigned caseload and helps navigate the appeals process to access medications.
  • This role works directly with healthcare providers & insurance plans/payers to gather information about a patient’s insurance and the coverage provided for a specific pharmaceutical product.
  • Shift:
    • M-F 7am-3:30pm CST (30 min lunch)
    • M-F 8am-4:30pm CST (30 min lunch)
    • M-F 8:30am-5pm CST (30 min lunch)
    • M-F 9:30am-6pm CST (30 min lunch)
    • M-F 10:30am-7pm CST (30 min lunch)
Required Qualifications for Patient Access Specialist:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 to 5 years of experience interacting with healthcare providers in regard to health insurance plan requirements
  • Benefit investigation and prior authorization experience
  • Pharmacy customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications for Patient Access Specialist:
  • Salesforce system experience preferred
  • Preferable: experience with buy & bill insurance process (if they have this you MUST include the Buy & Bill sheet with the resume)
