Healthcare Service Corporation (HCSC) is Hiring a Patient Financial Coordinator Near Anaheim, CA

Overview:
The Financial Coordinator will be responsible for managing coordination of benefits (COB), assisting clients with insurance processes, and supporting billing operations. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete Coordination of Benefits (COB): Ensure accurate coordination of benefits for clients, including responding to correspondence and assisting clients throughout the COB process.
  • Assist Clients: Gather relevant information prior to client meetings, obtain additional information as needed, and arrange COB.
  • Contact Insurance Companies: Utilize provided scripts to communicate with insurance companies alongside clients.
  • Premium Payment Collection: Aid clients in collecting insurance premium payments, which may involve contacting insurance companies via portals or phone calls.
  • Billing Assistance: Collect copays and/or deductible payments from clients to support the Billing Department.
  • Update Client Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the Client Electronic Medical Record system (Lightning Step).
  • Claims Support: Respond to requests for additional information or documentation on claims promptly.
  • Insurance Transition: Assist clients with transitioning from private pay to insurance pay, ensuring a smooth process.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical billing processes, including insurance coordination of benefits, and terminology
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Education, Knowledge and Skills Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with advanced competency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), preferably Lightning Step.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of professional ethics, boundaries, and judgment.
  • Proficient alpha/numeric data entry skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective phone etiquette.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in writing with good grammar, spelling, and legible handwriting.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Annual Tuberculosis Screening

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
