Job Overview:
The Security Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of Security Officers.

Duties:

• Supervises Security Officers
• Maintains HHC/MCPHD security by preventing/stopping criminal activity and other disruptive conduct
• Interprets requests and needs for security services
• Assigns and monitors deployment of personnel to maximize effectiveness of security functions on and off the HHC/MCPHD properties
• Directs work efforts and evaluates job performance of personnel
• Initiates disciplinary actions, upon approval of leadership and provides written documentation as required
• Responds to calls about security violations (hold ups, break ins, unruly conduct, etc)
• Carries firearm and maintains proficiency with firearm
• Maintains job specific competencies as described according to department/area/and unit specific requirements
• Communicates regularly with Manager and law enforcement officials in written and verbal forms on matters pertaining to security operations
• Analyzes effectiveness of general security operations; prepares required reports, initiates investigations, and recommends changes or improvements to security program and policies
• Investigates security problems when necessary
• Appears in court to give testimony as necessary
• Investigates complaints filed against officers under direct supervision
• Performs duties of Security Officer and Dispatcher when required for smooth operation of the department
• Performs all other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• MUST HAVE ATTENDED AND GRADUATED FROM A TIER 1 or TIER 2LAW ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY.
• High school graduate or equivalent; successful completion of formal training program as established by accredited Law Enforcement Academy including a Tier I or Tier II academy. Must obtain and maintain Special Deputy or reserve deputy/officer status.
• Two years of experience in use of police authority, and four years of experience as a security officer, demonstrating considerable knowledge of hospital security procedures and skills in supervision
• One year of previous supervisory experience is highly preferred
• Valid Indiana driver's license that meets HHC/MCPHD driving policy requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of all personnel positions supervised
• Must be highly proficient in the use and carrying of firearms based on the skills/knowledge attained in the mandatory MCSO Training
• Knowledge of department/hospital policies/procedures
• Written and oral communication skills
• Ability to interact/communicate effectively with all levels of hospital personnel
• Ability to provide accurate, concise written reports and through investigations
• Skills in leadership and education/training techniques
• Proficient in the use of the alarm computer
• Ability to use age-appropriate communication skills
• Ability to use age-appropriate cognitive abilities, skills, techniques, and communications as detailed in the department/area/unit job-specific/age-specific competencies driver's license that meets HHC/MCPHD driving policy requirements

Pay: $61,800.00 - $74,200.00 per year
