We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Family Development Specialist to join our team, focusing on youth engagement and development. As a Family Development Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment where young individuals can thrive, providing essential guidance to both youth and their families. If you are driven by the desire to empower youth to reach their full potential and are equipped with the skills and knowledge to facilitate positive family dynamics, we invite you to join us in this vital mission.

What will I be doing?

  • Provide intensive, time limited, mental health support services to children and adolescents who are at risk of out of home placement
  • Develop and facilitate individualized, comprehensive treatment plan promoting recovery and resiliency through crisis intervention, stabilization, behavioral counseling, skill building, advocacy, and medication management
  • Provide treatment interventions focused on behaviors and interactions of the child/adolescent, caregiver, and family with an ultimate goal of family preservation 

Am I a good fit?

  • In this position you will be traveling in the community to meet families where they are
  • A flexible schedule is important for this role and allows you to have control over your session planning
  • Attention to detail and organization skills will ensure success in this role

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field is required (i.e. Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Case Management, Child & Family Studies, etc.)
  • Must be LBSW
  • 2 years’ experience with children and/or families
