CSI Aviation, Inc. is Hiring a Director of Safety - Part 135 Air Carrier Near Killeen, TX

Preferred work location is on-site. However, hybrid or remote will be considered depending on candidate qualifications and experience. On site and hybrid work may be performed in Albuquerque, NM or Killeen, TX. Position will require periodic travel to Albuquerque, NM and Killeen, TX, as well as other domestic and international bases. Travel is expected to be no more than 25%.

Job Summary

Aviation Safety Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a mid-sized commercial air carrier with ongoing international operations. Designs and executes plans to ensure safe performance of flight operations in accordance with the instructions of the Director of Operations and the Vice President of Safety. Maintains broad knowledge of the relevant regulatory requirements and standard practices in the commercial aviation industry. Manages all aviation safety functions, processes, and tools for the air carrier. Ensures flight crew members and adjacent functional groups (such as medical personnel who perform work on aircraft) understand organizational safety goals, plans to meet the goals, and what is required to execute the safety plan. Maintains awareness of government, commercial and other environmental factors which may impact the safety function and safe flight operations, and plans to address, mitigate or capitalize on such factors as appropriate.

Essential Tasks/Functions:

· Participate in the development, update, and integration of an FAA approved Safety Management System (SMS).

· Supervise and direct monthly safety review councils.

· Oversee the company hazard reporting system as well as supervise corrective actions.

· Participate in trend analysis.

· Draft and implement company policies, such as maintenance tool control, fatigue management, and Standard Operating Procedures for base locations with diverse missions.

· Assist with the integration of the company Internal Evaluation Program, and the maintenance CASS system, into the SMS program.

· Participate in the quality assurance process by internally auditing various CSI functions, including maintenance, operations, training, and medical elements.

· Create training materials for onboarding new hires and educating them in the company safety policies.

· Perform as a Commercial Pilot (Pilot in Command or Second in Command) in King Air series aircraft and Beech 1900 aircraft as required.

· Continually develop and review flight risk assessments, Management of Change documents, and Quality Assurance tools.

· Liaise with FAA Inspectors and safety personnel as required.

· Develop procedures to assess and lower risk throughout company operations.

· Represent the company as a safety subject matter expert during FAA, CARB/DOD, NAAMTA, and other regulating agency and third party audits.

· Conduct Emergency Response Drills and oversee updates to the Emergency response Manual.

· Act as the Operational Control Authority (OCA) during execution of the flight schedule when required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

Professional Licensure: Commercial Instrument Pilot License
Medical: First Class Medical Required

Background: Must pass DOT mandated Drug & Alcohol Test and background investigation

Experience: Prior Commercial Pilot Experience. PIC: 1500 Hours Total Time, 800 Hours Multi-engine Time. SIC: 300 Hours Total Time, 25 Hours Multi-engine Time. Customer Service experience working with external customers.
Physical: Must be able to lift a minimum of 250 lbs. to chest height as part of a three-person team, must weigh less than 250 lbs. in street clothes, and must display a full, unrestricted range of motion in all limbs, joints, neck, back and waist.

Computer Skills: Aviation Digital Data Service, Jeppesen Direct, Foreflight

Identification: May require the ability to obtain and maintain a US Passport (or foreign equivalent) depending on specific job duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: BS/BA
Professional Licensure/Certifications: Airline Transport Pilot, Certified Flight Instructor

Training: Trained on Beechcraft King Air series aircraft. Hazmat Certification.

Experience: Prior Commercial Pilot Experience. SIC: 500 Hours Total Time, 50 Hours Multi-engine Time. Military, Aviation Industry, Air Ambulance Transportation (including MEDEVAC/CASEVAC)

Personal: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, professional demeanor and appearance.
