CSI Aviation, Inc. is Hiring a Corporate Counsel Near Albuquerque, NM

Preferred work location is on-site. However, hybrid or remote will be considered depending on candidate qualifications and experience. On site and hybrid work may be performed in Albuquerque, NM or Killeen, TX. Position will require periodic travel to Albuquerque, NM and Killeen, TX. Travel is expected to be no more than 25%.

Job Summary

Counsel for medium sized, multinational business operating primarily in the Commercial Aviation, Healthcare, Homeland Defense and Defense Industries. Contributes to the creation of policy, processes and procedures required to maintain compliance with a wide variety of regulatory and contract requirements. Conducts formal and informal training of employees on the subject of regulatory and contract compliance. Monitors organizational compliance with various industry regulations, as well as contract requirements, through participation on operational planning teams and auditing. Maintains familiarity with organizational commitments under commercial and government contracts and applicable law. May participate in acquisitions, purchasing or contracting.

Essential Tasks/Functions:

· Search for and examine public and other legal records to write opinions or inform business decisions.

· Maintain current knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations, standards, or guidance documents.

· Interpret regulatory rules changes and ensure that they are communicated through corporate policies.

· Determine types of regulatory submissions or internal documentation required based on business services offered.

· Recommend changes to company procedures in response to changes in regulations or standards.

· Participate in drafting or updating standard operating procedures, work instructions, or policies.

· Coordinate, prepare, or review regulatory submissions for domestic or international projects.

· Review proposals, promotional materials or other products for compliance with regulations and policies.

· Coordinate efforts associated with the preparation of regulatory documents or submissions.

· Participate in the organizational risk management system, including the management of mitigations such as insurance coverages.

· Negotiate settlements of disputes.

· Advise the organization concerning transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.

· Represent the organization before government agencies.

· Participate in internal or external audits.

· Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for discussions or negotiations.

· Confer with colleagues or outside counsel with specialties in appropriate areas of legal issue as required.

· Prepare or direct the preparation of additional information or responses as requested by regulatory agencies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

Education: J.D.

Professional Licensure: N/A
Experience: Three years’ experience in the Aviation or Healthcare Industries, or a comparably heavily regulated industry performing work for the Federal Government under federal contracts.
Computer Skills: Microsoft office: Word, Excel and Power Point

Other:

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Professional demeanor and appearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Licensure/Certifications: Formal credentials issued by reputable third parties, directly related to the referenced work and industries.

Experience: Five or more years’ experience in the Aviation or Healthcare Industries, or a comparably heavily regulated industry performing work for the Federal Government under federal contracts. Knowledge of tax law related to the referenced industries desired but not required. If the experience requirement is satisfied by federal contracting experience, detailed knowledge of the FARs, DFARs and other agency procurement regulations is desired.
