The Role:

The Medical Assistant Lead partners with physicians who play a critical role in driving an excellent patient experience. In addition to all of the tasks associated with a Medical Assistant at Heal, the Medical Assistant Lead will assist in the daily problem solving and supervision of Medical Assistants, providing guidance and mentorship. The Medical Assistant Lead will collaborate with various departments to update policies, order supplies and organize patient services.

Responsibilities

• Performs all functions of Medical Assistant role as outlined in Heal’s Medical Assistant Job Description
• Responsible for supervising up to 12 medical assistants
• Trains and onboards new medical assistants
• Guides, coaches, and mentors assigned Medical Assistants to continually improve performance and skill level
• Manages supply inventory and medical kit creation, distribution, and replenishment for clinical staff
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• National or state MA certificate with phlebotomy skills

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 1 year in a leadership role directly managing staff
• Technologically savvy and comfortable using tools such as mobile iPads for charting and HIPAA secure messaging apps for care coordination.
• Phlebotomy experience
• Front office medical experience preferred
• The ability to lift and carry a 25-35 lb medical kit regularly.
• Background check, DMV check, valid state license, and clean driving record required.
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Medical and religious exemptions will be granted based upon review of proper documentation. Heal will adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance.

All employees who drive during a shift are provided a GPS tracking device called “NOW”. The NOW device allows Heal Doctors to improve the accuracy of reported locations and arrival times, while also expediting the mileage reimbursement process. Please note, the NOW device is the sole method for submitting mileage reimbursement and needs to be used during the entirety of the employee's shift. If not, this will cause delays in mileage reimbursement and possible inaccuracies.
