Enterprise Architect - Job Description/Role and Responsibilities Position Overview - Basic Functions & Responsibility Essential function(s) includes, but is not limited to: Reporting to one of the Senior Architects/Managers within EA Solution Services, the Architect is a key member of the requirements and design teams on strategic IT programs within the MEGANLE RDU. He/she will help ensure integrated requirements and designs are delivered across independent projects within a program, participating on teams that focus on delivery of the solutions architecture designs that serve as the guiding structure for all subsequent design and build activities. The Architect will work in multiple areas of enterprise architecture to support the company s divisions and regions in alignment of IT Solutions to the Business Strategies and overall MEGANLE customer Reference Architecture. Primary Activities 1. Evaluating and influencing Requirements specifications, assessing solution impacts and identifying enterprise or program-wide solution needs 2. Delivering conceptual and logical solutions architecture designs to support project requirements, with a heavy emphasis on application structure, application integration, and application and information alignment to the business processes. 3. Reviewing, and monitoring detailed design and development to ensure alignment to the architecture design. 4. Leadership in key architecture areas where the incumbent has specialized training / skills 5. Support of a consistent architecture operating model throughout Merck Skills (include specific skill levels required to apply HCL Leadership Principles) 1. Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related study or equivalent experience. 2. 10 years of experience in at least two IT disciplines in a multi-tier environment, including but not limited to, Enterprise Architecture, Application Architecture, Technical Architecture, Systems Analysis or IT Strategic Planning. 3. Experience with multiple diverse applications environments. 4. Strong understanding of systems architecture, distributed processing, application integration, and service-oriented architecture. 5. Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork and facilitation. 6. Strong leadership skills, decision-making and communications skills. 7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and technical skills. (1.) To drive relationship with the customer and other internal stakeholders. (2.) To ensure Delivery Governance through creating a facilitative operating environment (3.) To lead the business review meeting with the customer and to ensure that customer visits by the client result in generation of additional business for HCL. (4.)
