HCD International is Hiring a Healthcare Data Scientist Near Lanham, MD

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in data science, specifically within the healthcare industry, and possess strong consulting experience. This role involves leveraging data-driven insights to optimize healthcare processes, improve patient outcomes, and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation:
  • Analyze complex healthcare datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop predictive models to forecast healthcare outcomes and resource utilization.
  • Interpret and present analytical findings to stakeholders, translating technical results into actionable recommendations.
  • Consulting and Strategy Development:
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, payers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges.
  • Provide strategic consulting to clients on leveraging data science to improve clinical and operational performance.
  • Design and implement data-driven solutions to enhance patient care, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead data science projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical staff, and management, to align project objectives and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Utilize advanced statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization tools.
  • Implement and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in data science and healthcare.
  • Conduct training and workshops to upskill team members and clients in data science best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices, methodologies, and tools for healthcare data analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in data science, with at least 2 years in the healthcare sector.
  • Proven track record of consulting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and compliance regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred:

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of population health management and value-based care models.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
