Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse in Float Pool delivers professional nursing care to population-specific patients on the Acute Inpatient Units to include, Acute Care Medicine, Acute Care Telemetry, Acute Care Cardiac, Acute Care Cardiopulmonary, Chest Pain, Neuroscience, Neuro-Stroke, Neuro Spine, Observation, Ortho Surgical Trauma, Post-Surgical. NO CRITICAL CARE. The RN follows the Board of Nursing’s (BON) Standards of Nursing Practice utilizing the nursing process in care delivery. The RN also maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions within the parameters of their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of Gulf Coast Division (GCD).

What you will do in this role:

  • You will be responsible for delivery of professional nursing care for assigned patients, performs nursing assessments/care plan/ implementation of treatment/ evaluation of treatment/ and discharge planning.
  • You will administer treatments/medications/procedures within scope of practice.
  • You will coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and ancillary services.
  • You will be responsible for delegation within scope of practice to provide safe and effective care to patient population.
  • You will integrate behavior standards and AIDET fundamentals of service into all work activities.
  • You will be authorized to access secure drug and biological storage areas when completing a medication management orientation and when necessary to perform assigned duties.

What qualification you will need:

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or you are willing to enroll or are currently enrolled to attain BSN.
  • Minimum of 1-year RN experience required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
