JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY: The Lending Services Risk Regulatory Program Manager is responsible for building control requirements and processes necessary for the implementation and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive compliance and risk program for Lending Services, in conjunction with the Director, Lending Services Risk. This includes identifying areas of potential risk, assessing the level of risk, determining any systemic implications, and developing controls to resolve and mitigate risks. This position ensures system applications used by Lending Services are designed to functionally comply with Regulatory Risk and Hancock Whitney Bank Policies and Procedural guidelines. The compliance and risk program includes, but not limited to the coordination and execution of internal First Line of Defense internal reviews, Regulatory examinations, Corporate Compliance Reviews, self-assessments, risk assessments, and review/development of policies and procedures to ensure conformity and adherence with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the management of the compliance risk function, both regulatory and policy, of Consumer and Small Business Lending, and certain Commercial Lending practices, by creating, reporting and monitoring key risk areas as directed by Director, Consumer Lending Risk. Ensures Consumer and Small Business Lending loan documents, systems, policies and procedures are compliant with all federal, state and local regulations. Monitors to safeguard against systemic issues. Coordinates the review and interpretation of applicable new and pending laws and regulations. Coordinates the development or revision of policies and procedures to ensure optimum compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Evaluates risk factors and effectiveness of controls within Consumer & Small Business Lending. Monitors and reports Key Risk Indicators. Assists the Director, Lending Services Risk in the development of compliance risk assessments for all units Monitors risk metrics and early warning indicators through audits and/or other reporting sources. Reviews compliance control techniques to ensure efforts are documented and procedures are current and complete Responsible for the functional management of internal and external audits and Compliance reviews for Consumer and Small Business Lending, in conjunction with the Director, Lending Services Risk. Researches and responds to findings, ensures proper remediation of findings, and track/reports audit results. Assist in and coordinates Lending Services CLC/BLC reviews and audits. Responsible for providing periodic audit reports to management. Acts as a liaison to the Corporate Compliance and Internal Audit groups. Evaluates and tests that practices in the workplace agree with management’s audit responses Establishes addition control processes as needed to prevent reoccurrences after remediation Responsible for participating in projects designed to upgrade technologies used in the loan process. Facilitates the coordination and communication of testing efforts and development of processes for regulatory and operational changes. Assists the Director, Lending Services Risk, Lending Services Product Manager and management in the evaluation of new products and enhancements of existing products to ensure regulatory compliance requirements are met, and procedures are established to continue effective workflows. Maintains prescribed security controls to protect Lending Services against criminal and fraudulent activities and unnecessary risk or exposure. Compiles and accurately reports applicable data as required by government regulations or Management Committees. Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to BSA and AML. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May have supervisory responsibilities. Should be carried out in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws; Provides guidance and oversight to and is responsible for the coordination and evaluation of the assigned team. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring and training associates; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; associate compensation; approving expense reports; addressing concerns and resolving problems. MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field. 5 years of banking experience with emphasis on experience within Risk and/or Compliance Management or equivalent combination of education and experience with 8 years loan and compliance experience. Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager Certification or other industry accepted certification is preferred. Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of bank operations and processes with specific concentration on Consumer and Small Business Lending (example: Mortgage, Finance Company, Underwriting and Consumer/Small Business Lending) Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of federal and multi-state laws and regulations Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of money laundering typologies and investigative techniques Demonstrated experience in detection, investigation, and case management of errors, risks and suspicious activity. ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions Ability to work under stress with several priorities and meet deadlines Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
