Clamp Truck Operator and Material Handler – 3rd shift

Hazen Paper was founded in 1925 and is based in Holyoke, MA with a satellite facility in Housatonic, MA. Hazen Paper is a world-class paper converter specializing in custom holographic originations, film, foil, and paper laminations, specialty and gravure coatings, and rotary embossing.
Summary
Operate all Material Handling Equipment in a safe a productive manner. Drive box truck in a safe and productive manner, obeying all traffic laws. May be assigned to either the Receiving or Shipping areas or to both areas depending on shift assignments.
Requirements
Valid Driver’s license required
Clean Driving Record required
Will be required to work overtime
Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Responsibilities
Drive Clamp truck to lift, stack, tier or move rolls of materials throughout the factory.
Position forks, clamps over and around loaded pallets, skids, roll of material and transport load to designated area.
Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting/clamping device.
May lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank or replace liquifies gas tank.
Perform daily safety checks on equipment
Receiving Duties
Empty baler as necessary.
Check materials as they are offloaded for condition, insure materials against packing list/bill of lading for accuracy.
Insure all paper work is correct, signed and delivered to office.
Coordinate with supervisor on arrivals and deliveries to departments.
Receive, unload and distribute all materials in good condition.
Responsible for stocking of all Production machines and moving stock around for accessibility for upcoming orders.
Ensure proper care and storage of aluminum frames and cores for outgoing shipment.
Box Truck Responsibilities
Follow all Hazen policies and procedures for driving the box truck.
Maintain up to date driver’s license. Continue to have a good driving record through State/Commonwealth RMV and allow for annual check of un-contested RMV record.
Maintain up to date DOT card and attend physicals and drug screens necessary to do so.
Drive box truck to make deliveries. Pre-plan any route to be taken to ensure driving directions are known and that height restrictions for underpasses and tunnels are understood.
Shipping Responsibilities
Ensure that material packaging meets customer requirements and Hazen procedures.
Ensure that all material is properly labeled, strapped and wrapped.
Ensure that all paperwork is complete and signed per Hazen requirements.
Prepare all materials for shipment.
Responsible for stocking of all Finishing machines and moving stock around for accessibility for upcoming orders.
Responsible for keeping stock rooms in an orderly and safe manner (each roll must be properly chocked.)
General Responsibilities
Follow all safety rules and wear all required safety equipment.
Maintain good housekeeping in your work area.
May be required to operate a computer to keep records.
May be required at times to fill other positions as customer requirements demand.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1 year related experience and/or training.
